As the relationship among the brain, environmental triggers, and the microbiome continues to be explored by health professionals, it is becoming clear that many disorders and behaviors may be related to what we ingest and the subsequent health of the gut. Basic lifestyle changes, including diet modification, can have a profound effect on the therapies that autistic children (and those on the spectrum) receive. Nutrition professionals have a huge opportunity to help parents and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder thrive.
