Vicki Shanta Retelny, RDN is a nationally recognized lifestyle nutrition expert, author, culinary and media consultant. Vicki has a passion for translating nutrition science into usable, real-life messages as a freelance writer for numerous publications and an on-air expert on local and national television. She is the author of two books, The Essential Guide to Healthy Healing Foods and Total Body Diet For Dummies®.

Vicki is on the clinical team at Form Health, a virtual obesity medicine practice, in which she helps patients nationwide to achieve their health and weight loss goals. Vicki enjoys teaching culinary classes and educating her patients on ways to get creative in the kitchen and integrate delicious flavors to create tasty, nourishing meals.

Vicki earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, as well as a degree in Food and Nutrition from Loyola University in Chicago. She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is the past chair of both the Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetics Practice Group and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Member Services Committee.

She is an avid traveler who has lived abroad in Belgium and London. She loves to get lost in a good historical fiction novel and is a passionate Pilates enthusiast. She lives to eat well with her husband and two active teenagers in Chicago, IL.
